In the A race, Jay Joslyn (Shickluna) once again takes the win after a long breakaway, while James Thompson, in his first BBC race, outsprints his two breakaway partners to win the B race.

In the A's, Jay was joined by Bob Dahl (Hollyloft/El Matador) in staying away virtually the entire race, but at the line, Bob had no answer to Jay's strong acceleration. Bob's teammate, Randy Longworthy, was in no-man's land the entire time, staying ahead of the main pack, but unable to bridge up, and taking 3rd place.

In the B's, James was joined by Shawn O'Neil (ellicottville Bike Shop) and Lance Johnson (Tom's Pro Bike/Plan2Peak) in the breakaway, also away for virtually the entire race. They worked well together to keep the chase group of Vince Lorenz and Craig Polston of The Bike Shop at bay, and James took the sprint easily over Lance and Shawn. Vince and Craig followed, as they were also able to stay away from what little of the pack remained behind them, as the B's were well strung out by the end of the race.
