The Online Auto Connection Road Race was contested by 83 total riders on a beautiful day in Langford.
In the A race, a few early moves were brought back until Jay Joslyn slipped off the front and soloed for 3 laps and took the win about 2 minutes in front of a charging pack. In the field sprint, Mike Bridges took it for second place, followed by John Roden, Frank Mesi and John Garrett.
In the B race, the race finished in a large field sprint. Unfortunately, there was a crash about a kilometer from the finish, taking down 3 or more riders, and breaking up the pack. Mike Cormier suffered a separated shoulder and may have a torn rotator cuff. He states that he is doing fine, and we wish him a speedy recovery. Vince Lorenz was the protected rider for The Bike Shop. Teammate Craig Polston, winner of last week's road race, did the brunt of the work, taking both lap preems offered during the race, but unfortunately, was one of the riders who went down in the crash.Vince sat in the field all race long, saved his energy, and took the sprint followed by Jim Kuberka, Rob Hillyard, Sean McGovern, and Allen Erb.
In a special celebrity C race, Melissa Subjeck defeated teammate and friend Nancy Long at the line, after working together to hold off the always pesky Ladislav Dohanics.
Thank you to all the marshalls and volunteers,
