CRIT RACING RETURNS WITH A BANG!

A good group of riders and a small crowd braved temperatures in the mid 40's tonight for the first of the 11-race Cobblestone Criterium Twilight Series.
In the A-Feature race it was one attack after another right from the gun, until Jay Joslyn (Shickluna) threw down an attack that couldn't be matched. While Jay was working on lapping the field, a small group of four were working on salvaging the remaining four points-paying positions. In the end Joslyn took home the victory, followed by Mike Bridges (Shickluna) in 2nd, Mike Cormier (Pearl Street), 3rd, Joe Cooke (French Meadow/Fortistar), 4th, and Lance Johnson (Handlebars) in 5th.
The B-race saw similar action. A small group of five escaped early in the race and quickly gained time on a disjointed pack. With a few laps remaining, Ben Barnhardt (Pearl Street) powered his way off the lead group and held on for the win. Andy Burke (SUNY Buffalo) threw down a hard sprint to secure 2nd. He was followed closely by Bob Patterson (Managed Care) in 3rd, Tom Weichman (Pearl Street), 4th, and Jeff Poulsen (St. Catherines CC) in 5th.
